In Villa Fiorito, talent was not an escape from reality—it was a way to bend reality around the ball.

Diego Armando Maradona was born in Lanús and raised on the southern edge of Buenos Aires. Argentinos Juniors introduced his astonishing control to senior football before his sixteenth birthday.

His dribbling was both physical and theatrical: sharp changes of direction, fearless contact, and passes seen a beat before everyone else. With Argentina and Napoli, individual invention became collective belief.
