Milan’s Porta Vittoria district produced the forward who became Italian football’s first popular superstar.

Meazza debuted for Inter at seventeen and developed into a two-footed scorer, creator, and dribbler who could lead the line or operate behind it.

He helped Italy win the 1934 World Cup and captained the successful defence in 1938. His 284 Inter goals remain the club record celebrated by the stadium that bears his name.
