Auston Matthews brought an Arizona-developed hockey story to Toronto and turned exceptional finishing into major NHL honours.

Matthews reached the NHL through a distinctive route that included the United States development programme and professional hockey in Switzerland. His arrival in Toronto began a career closely associated with the possibilities of modern American hockey.
