Origin
and identity

Connor Bedard entered the NHL under enormous attention and turned his first Chicago season into Calder Trophy recognition.

Chicago selected Bedard first overall in 2023. A player chosen at the top of the draft begins with expectations already attached, but his early NHL record supplied its own evidence. He scored 22 goals and 61 points in 68 games during the 2023–24 season.

The Calder Trophy recognized that rookie campaign. Bedard then completed all 82 regular-season games in 2024–25 and raised his point total to 67. This entry captures the opening chapters of a highly visible career; its milestones are completed achievements, not predictions about where the story must end.
