Kirill Kaprizov's immediate NHL impact gave Minnesota a new attacking focal point and a widely recognizable star.

The Wild selected Kaprizov 135th in 2015, but his NHL scoring record did not begin until the 2020–21 season. The arrival was decisive: 27 goals and 51 points in 55 games earned the Calder Trophy. His draft position became a striking contrast with his eventual influence.

The following season expanded the picture, with 47 goals and 108 points. He also scored seven goals in six playoff games that spring. Another 46-goal regular season in 2023–24 reinforced the impression of a winger capable of producing standout numbers across more than one campaign.
