Origin
and identity

Holger Rune brought aggressive intent and early big-match confidence to a teenage Masters title and a top-five ranking.

Rune rose quickly from junior success into the professional game. His 2022 season included a first ATP singles title in Munich, a Roland Garros quarterfinal and an exceptional finish at the Paris Masters.

In Paris he defeated five top-ten opponents and beat Novak Djokovic in the final, earning a Masters 1000 crown at nineteen. Further finals in Monte-Carlo and Rome in 2023 confirmed his competitiveness on clay, while a rise to No. 4 established a new Danish benchmark in the ATP rankings.
